Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi was born in Busseto (Italy), on October 10, 1813. The author of the most popular titles in the lyrical repertoire was undoubtedly the most notable and influential composer of Italian opera. However, it was not all applause and triumphs in the musician's life, his eighty-seven years of life were also peppered with sad and distressing moments. His name became a symbol of the patriotic and political struggle for the unification of the country, although he himself declared that he was a humble peasant and that he would remain so throughout his life.
